United Bank Names New President & CEO
Two Directors Elected to Board
At its quarterly meeting held on February
29, 2000, the Board of Directors of United Bank appointed Kendal E.
Carson to the posts of President and Chief Executive Officer and named
him a Director of the Bank. Mr. Carson has been with Bank since 1992.
He has been a member of the senior management team and headed real
estate lending area since that time, and was recently given
responsibility as the Bank's chief credit officer. He will retain
those posts in addition to his new duties as President, CEO and
Director. Mr. Carson possesses over 22 years of banking experience,
with special expertise in commercial and residential real estate. He
is a graduate of George Mason University.
Also named to the Bank's Board of Directors was James J. Consagra, Jr.
Mr. Consagra is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of
United Bank, and is also an Executive Vice President of United
Bankshares.
Mr. Consagra joined the Bank in 1992 with a background in public
accounting. He currently manages the Bank's investment portfolio,
chairs the Asset Liability Committee, and is a member of the Asset
Liability Committee of United Bankshares. He is a graduate of James
Madison University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
